Add firewall port exception for QB
- Open the Start menu.
- In the search dialog box, type Windows Firewall and hit Enter.
- Click on the Advanced Settings.
- Now, right-click on Inbound Rules, and when you create outbound rules, choose Outbound Rules.
- Tap New Rule.
- After this, click on the Port option and then choose Next.
- At this step, you need to ensure that the TCP box is marked.
- Head over to the Specific local ports and then enter the port number from the following:
- QB Desktop 2017: 8019, 56727, 55373-55377
- QB Desktop 2018: 8019, 56728, 55378-55382
- QB Desktop 2019: 8019, XXXXX
- QB Desktop 2020 and newer: 8019, XXXXX
- Now, choose Next and then click on Allow the Connection.
- Choose Next, and if you receive any prompt, make sure that all the profiles are marked.
- Tap Next and create a rule with QBPorts(year) name.
- Lastly, choose Finish.

Create Windows firewall exceptions for QB
- Open the Start menu and type Windows Firewall, and open it.
- Choose Advanced Settings.
- Right-click on the Inbound Rules and repeat the steps for creating outbound rules, but choose Outbound Rules.
- Tap New Rule and then click on Program.
- Choose Next, followed by This Program Path.
- Choose Browse and choose an executable file.
- After this, you need to click Next.
- Tap on the Allow the Connection option, followed by Next.
- Again, pick Next.
- If you are prompted, ensure that all the profiles are selected.
- Tap Next and create a rule and name it QBFirewallException(name.exe).
- Later, repeat the steps above to create outbound rules for all executable files in the table below. When it is done, add intuit to the trusted sites on the computer.
